Americas Gold & Silver is closely monitoring developments surrounding the outbreak of COVID-19. Our priority is to protect the health and safety of our employees and to provide a safe work environment. Our Company is following government guidelines and protocols at our three operations in Nevada, Idaho and Mexico.
- The Mexican government declared a health emergency and ordered the suspension of non-essential activities, which includes mining
- Our Cosalá operations are currently impacted by an illegal blockade at site, which forced the Company to suspend mining activities at the end of January and as a result, the impact of the suspension of non-essential activities in Mexico is muted
- Our operations in Nevada and Idaho continue to operate according to state government guidelines; challenges are present in getting key personnel, contractors, consultants and equipment to site
There are presently no known cases within the Company.
These are challenging and uncertain times, but we feel confident that as a Company and community, we can get through this together.
As part of ongoing efforts to support our community, Americas Gold and Silver has donated barrier & biosecurity materials to The Hospital Integral Cosalá, Sinaloa, Mexico, to help aid the front-line workers & patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Masks, disposable gowns, antibacterial gel, among other elements that are part of the materials delivered to them.
